Welcome to Astrea Academy Netherwood’s Transition pages 2024-2025!
We are delighted to welcome you and your child as you begin the exciting journey from primary to secondary school. This page has been created to support you through this important transition, providing key information, important dates, and helpful resources to make the move to Year 7 as smooth and positive as possible.
We understand that this can be both an exciting and sometimes anxious time for families, so our aim is to keep you well-informed and reassured every step of the way. Here, you’ll find everything you need to know about what to expect, how we support our new students, and how you can help your child prepare for the next stage of their education.
We are very much looking forward to getting to know you and working together to ensure a confident and happy start to secondary school life.
Some key dates to be aware of:
27th March 2025 – Year 6 offers evening and one to one meetings. New parents should have been sent a letter inviting them to book in a time slot for the meetings.
16th and 17th July 2025 – Formal Transition days. Year 6 students come to Netherwood to prepare for their start in September.
First day of Year 7 – Wednesday 3rd September 2025.
